Chicks News - 12th June 2026
This week the children have been getting ready for 'Bring Daddy to School Day' and help them, we explored a variety of stories about Dads. The Pink, Green, and Purple Chicks listened to I Love You Daddy by Paw Patrol. The Orange Chicks listened to Me and My Dad! by Alison Ritchie, and the Yellow Chicks listened to What Does Daddy Do? by Rachel Bright.
The children enjoyed listening to the different stories and talking about their own Dads and the special things they do together. These stories helped to encourage discussion, develop listening skills, and build excitement for 'Bring Daddy to School Day'.
This week, the children enjoyed a variety of engaging activities both indoors and outdoors. They explored role play in the Doctor’s Surgery, played with small world toys, developed fine motor skills through play dough, kinetic sand, cutting, mark-making, and water play, and worked on Sports Day boards and Father’s Day cards.
During Outdoor Learning, the children explored the woodland, climbed trees, created imaginative games and journeys, and enjoyed activities in the sandpit, Mud Kitchen, and minibeast garden. They also practised their phonics, listened to the story I Love You Daddy, sang songs with Mr Alex and shared their 'Show and Tell' items.
A highlight of the week was welcoming the Daddies into the Nursery, where the children enjoyed playing, creating artwork, sharing stories and performing their Father’s Day songs together.
