Chicks News - 22nd May 2026
This week was sponsorship week in the Chicks and the children have done a wonderful job at raising money for "Brake" through their road safety activities. All of the Chicks have been learning about red lights and green lights, zebra crossings and using our eyes and ears to help us safely cross the road. We were even so fortunate as to have a lollypop lady come into visit us and demonstrate to the children how she can help them to cross the road. The children used a variety of art techniques (roller painting, sponge painting, scrunching, gluing) and scissor skills to create their own traffic lights and zebra crossings which could be used in their road safety exercises.
The children have also enjoyed colour stamping, construction and playdough small world amongst a myriad of activities designed to support their physical development. The 'Hairdressers' Role Play Area has been extremely well utilised with some very extravagant styling going on! These activities have supported the children's communication and language, turn taking and PSED.
The Yellow Chicks have now completed their first half term with us and we are so proud of them for settling so well and engaging with the activities with such enthusiasm.
