Fledglings News - 15th May 2026
The Fledglings have been enjoying storytelling and this week’s Topic Story ‘You Choose’ has continued to inspire their imagination and creativity. The children love the bright pictures and taking turns to select different options from the pictures to build their story. We incorporated this into our Art Project as they cut and stuck their favourite pictures from the book to create their own story. Provided with pens, pencils and stickers they added further details to their stories.
We loved our visit to the Secret Garden this week and meeting up with the Squirrels from 345 Balham. As we have been doing this throughout the year it is lovely to see new friendships continuing to grow as the children interact and their confidence being around less familiar adults too.
During our Focus Times this week we have revisited our trip to the Polka Theatre as we looked at counting backwards, recalling how we did this when we travelled by bus and needed to know when our stop was coming up. We also recalled and retold the story of ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’, looking at the similarities and differences between the play and the traditional tale.
