Fledglings News - 25th September 2026
This week our Topic Story was ‘Little Goose’s Autumn’ by Elli Woollard. The intentions behind choosing the book were to continue to develop the children’s understanding of changes in the seasons, to extend their interest in animals and build their perseverance when things are difficult, all of which were addressed in the book.
We finished and sent our Grandparents invitations and greetings cards this week and walked to the post box to post them. This provided us with opportunities to talk about different roles in society and celebrations.
We were joined by our Peripatetic teachers for Spanish, Music and Sports on Monday, Wednesday and Friday respectively. These activities build their children’s confidence in new situations, encourage them to learn about different ways of life and strengthen their gross motor, listening, attention and communication skills.
During our Outdoor Learning Day we enjoyed observing the geese which we often see as well as making nature prints, where we encouraged the children to notice the fine details and see that art can be done anywhere.
During Free Play explored activities which linked to both our Topic Story and extended the children’s interests.
