We have had very busy week with two lovely events. On Wednesday we celebrated our annual Harvest Festival, and on Friday we welcomed all the grannies and grandpas into the Nursery for a morning of fun to celebrate Grandparents Day.

This week's Topic Story book was related to this celebration and this brand new story of the ‘Gruffalo Granny’ by Julia Donaldson was our guide to chat about our grandparents. We spoke about the impact they have on our lives, activities we enjoy doing with them, visits and holidays we have together.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed our first visit to Finton House's Secret Garden. The garden is like an open air classroom where we can play, count and read stories. There is a fantastic Mud Kitchen on site that the children love using and a variety of plants that we enjoy observing alongside the creepy crawlies that hide under the logs.

Back in the classroom, the Role Play Area was set up as a Post Office as we have talked so much about posting our invitations and cards and the children were very curious about how their invitation will reach their destinations.

The Free Play, Circle Time and Focussed Time activities continue to be inspired by the children's interests as well as following the Curriculum.
