This week our Topic Story was a twist on a traditional tale, ‘Goldilocks and Just One Bear’. We picked the story with several intentions including retelling stories, predicting and anticipating events in a story, developing vocabulary and in preparation for World Porridge Day.

Our Art project was inspired by our Topic Story and the children created bears and Goldilocks in a variety of ways with bubble painting and circle stacking being the options the could choose from. 

Our Role Play Area was set up as ‘The Bears House’ which enabled the children to role play both the traditional story and the new version from our Topic Story. 

On Friday we held our fundraiser event for World Porridge Day. The children helped prepare the porridge before Snack Time and then had a selection of fruits which they used to create faces on their porridge. It was a great opportunity to encourage the children to think about the wider world around us as we raise money for the amazing charity, Mary's Meals.
