The Chicks have enjoyed a varied week as we welcomed back some of the Chicks from last year and were joined by a new cohort of children too. Our Topic Story for the week was Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and we used this book to recap our knowledge of colours, introduce new vocabulary and get to know each other.
During our Home Visits we learnt about the children’s interests and this was incorporated into our planning, providing exciting play opportunities for the children to explore to aid their settling in process. During our Focus Time activities we continued to explore colours, whilst building up our confidence in getting to know each other and our teachers and developing an understanding of our Classroom Principles.
It was a great start to the Autumn Term with the children and we are excited for the year ahead.
