The focus of our learning this week has been around our fundraising event for the Children’s Air Ambulance. We enjoyed the Topic Story A Superhero Like You which explored real jobs where people provide services which help people, including doctors, scientists, teachers and air ambulance personnel. The children have loved the topic and it was great to hear them share their experiences as many have parents who do these jobs too.
Our fundraising challenge took place at the common where the children had to follow the obstacle course, collecting items related to the stages of an air ambulance mission. They each had a personalised photograph of themselves as pilots and they had to find their named medical bags and helicopters before heading to the allocated hospital ensuring that they delivered their patient to the correct place. They had to use safety equipment such as carabiner clips which added an additional challenge to their tasks. The children loved it and we can’t wait to find out how much we raised.
