This week the Chicks Topic Book was The Enormous Turnip.The children loved the story and we used the messages from the book to focus on teamwork and sizes.
For the display board each class created their own turnip using various techniques such as collage and marble painting. All the children had great fun working together with their friends. During the Free Play they enjoyed sorting objects by size, digging vegetables out of the soil, playing with the small world farm model and recapping the story using props such as vegetables and cooking utensils.
On Wednesday all the children celebrated World Porridge Day by creating a face out of fruits on their porridge and the 345 families collected money to support ‘Mary’s Meal’.
