The Fledglings have shown a huge interest in the ocean and we chose the Sea Life Trust for our fundraising event for this reason. Our Topic Story ‘Marli’s Tangled Tale’ really captured their attention and despite it being a long story the children were enraptured by the events occurring throughout. We have even spotted balloons in one of the trees near to nursery on our Outdoor Learning Days and the children have been able to make links between the events in the book and the balloons they have spotted.
For our fundraising event the children had to search for the different pictures of the animals hidden around the Outdoor Learning Environment before seeing if they could locate their habitats on large maps. We then played an exciting and loud game of true or false, where the children had to make their predictions before finding out the correct answer. We ended the week with a litter collection activity in the surrounding area. The Fledglings were great at spotting even the smallest pieces of rubbish to be collected.
Alongside all this excitement we also enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Secret Garden at Finton House, enjoying the beautiful weather and the exciting resources they have.
