This week the Fledglings have been exploring the work of Salvador Dali and have created their own versions of the clocks from his famous work ‘The Persistence of Memory’. We used clay for our clocks, rolling and pressing the numbers into the clay. Once it was dry we added colours using watercolours. We can’t wait to show our work in our upcoming Art Exhibition.

During our Outdoor Learning Day we ventured a little further afield as we explored the common for our Fauvism photography project. The children took photographs of different landscapes around the common before we edited them to create bright colourful images. It was wonderful to see the children’s creativity shine through these images.

We also enjoyed creating a height chart during our Maths Focus Time. In small groups we worked together to measure each others heights, creating a height chart which we can compare as the children continue to grow throughout the year. They loved making predictions as to who was the tallest and they were keen to include their teachers who also had to be measured.
