This week at 345 the Chicks have been exploring two different Topic Stories. The Green and Pink Chicks have been reading Penguin by Polly Dunbar all about a little boy named Ben who gets a new Penguin but Ben struggles with his emotions when Penguin doesn’t do everything that Ben wants him too. The Chicks talked about how Ben was feeling and even took photos of their own happy, sad and angry faces.

The Orange and Purple Chicks were focusing on our Classroom Principles using a book called Kindness by Helen Mortimer. We have talked through our Classroom Principles and created Art together, using a sad time to wait for our partner to paint before swapping over.

We have all engaged with the Fire Station Role Play Area. The Chicks have been answering the phones, climbing ladders and fighting the fires together.

During Write Dance we used flour and shaving foam to make arches with both hands like rainbows. We have enjoyed Music with Mr Alex and Sport with Coach Pedro. The Chicks were all very excited about some new toys and this also encouraged us to practise our 'Turn Taking' and 'Kind Hearts'.

Our water play has seen penguins frozen in ice blocks which we ‘set free’ using salty water and hammers. The Chicks used pipettes and cups to transfer the water. One morning the dinosaurs took over the dolls house, having baths and sitting on the sofa, much to the delight of the Chicks. What a lovely week of fun and learning!
