Fledglings News - 31st October

This week we have enjoyed learning about the celebration of Diwali. Our Topic Story Shubh Diwali explained some of the traditions and customs people who celebrate Diwali follow and why this celebration is important. We took inspiration from their Rangolis in Art as we used colourful shapes to create our own patterns. 

The highlight of the week however was our visit to the Secret Garden at Finton House. We enjoyed the bus journey, recalling the safety precautions from previous weeks and recent road safety Focus Times.

Elsewhere in the classroom, we learned about electric circuits where we strengthened our pincer grip as we connected the crocodile clips to the battery and sockets before pressing the switch to see the light come on. For our last day before the end of the half term we loved welcoming the children in fancy dress.
