The classroom has been a hive of activity as we prepare for our Art Exhibition as well as exploring this week's Topic Story ‘Bea’s Bad Day’, about a little girl who’s birthday celebrations go wrong and she has to cope with the disappointment. The story resonated with the children and many could empathise with Bea.
It was a very muddy morning on our Outdoor Learning Day and the children loved discovering the muddy puddles to play in. We took a selection of Mud Kitchen resources and the children used them to enhance their role play games, making soups, serving friends and mixing potions.
Welcoming family members in to see our Art Exhibition was the highlight of the first half of term and the children loved showing off how hard they had been working over the last few weeks. Their art was displayed as it would have been in an Art Gallery and included labels and explanations about the way their work had been created. It was wonderful to see the children showing their families around with pride.
